Founded in year 2000, One97 is a delhi based mobile internet services company offering its services for consumers in India and delivers mobile content, advertising and commerce services to mobile consumers. One97 is the largest private independent provider of telecom managed value added services in India. Earlier the company has also got fundings from others investors ranging from Intel Capital, SAIF Partners and Silicon Valley Bank.

The founder of One97, Vijay Shekhar Sharma is an engineer, who belongs to town Aligarh, he has started first business venture XS Corps, a web solutions firm while he was in third year off his engineering. The start-up was later sold to US based technology firm Lotus Interworks in 1999. Afterwards he also worked togather with Bhari Airel as VAS (value added service) partner. In 2004-2005, his revenue was Rs 7 crore per year and than in 2005-06, he earned Rs 11 crore and in 2006-07, he acquired Positive Consol, a data services company in Noida, India. One97 is now a INR 250 crore company i.e. around USD$ 2.5 billion dollar revenue per year.

SAP ventures has also invested in JustDial, iYogi, Connectiva and Newgen among which are among SAP’s Indian portfolio companies. SAP venture is more keen on companies based in US, Europe, India, Brazil and China.

InMobi is one of the first product based startup in India who have reached to such an extent in terms of geographical reach, monetary value and impact in such a short time. Rumours are on that Google is eyeing the company to acquire as its the closest competitor to Google mobile advertising.

TechCrunch had an interview with the founder CEO of the company Navin Tewari (below), although the interview was taken in 2010 the business he talked about have accoplished indeed within a year.

CleverTexting make predictions on what characters you are most likely to type next based upon what have just typed before and armed with the probabilistic statistical tables of what is actually found in the language. This is an experimental model and apparently providing excellent results in the prototype that has been built.

The CleverTexting prototype when installed in mobile Java enabled device make predictions that are shown on the screen and you use the numeric keypad to make the choices, always with a single keystroke. No multitap, no mode change, no disambiguation. That user interface , with no characters fixed to the face of the numeric keypad and dynamic allocation of characters to the keys is also new and the company has applied for a patent for it.

Interestingly, CleverTexting predicts the most likely characters following what has been entered and placing them into positions easiest to reach for your thumb. Moreover, it could even change mode when held in the left hand or vice-verse.

CleverTexting is working to have a separate implementation for differing languages and locales for the most optimal performance for a user. As it is easy by just switching the statistical tables. CleverTexting has been released for the English language for the global audience and work is on for other language and script implementations.
