Google has just unveiled a Android based Super phone called - Nexus One phone and India being one among unsupported countries. however people residing in India may psychologically satisfy themselves watching the Inetractive demo , 3D Tour or videos of Nexus One phone until it arrives in India as there is not any mention via Google of how, why and when it will arrive in India. The Google super phone will be available only in US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong. Noticeably unlike to Apple iPhone Google Nexus is "Unlocked" GSM phone sold and shipped by Google only. Moreover, unavailability of 3G Mobile technology in India could be strong reason for Nexus phone unavailability, as at present its with BSNL only. Ironically, countries like UK had already made trials of next generation 4G mobile broadband technology. Question - Why Google didn't approach BSNL? as its also 3G and GSM phone operator in India. However, India has its own Jugaad of getting Google Nexus by - shipping it to India (US$529 + $60 shipping + import duty = 32k INR approx.) or can also get it from ebay once people people start to resale it.

Microsoft today has unveiled new Zune HD device along with its PC software and online services. Microsoft Zune provides comprehensive music and video experience across mobile devices, PCs and the TV to give consumers anywhere access to the music and videos. A black 16GB Zune version estimated for $219.99 and a platinum 32GB version for $289.99. The India Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has selected Syniverse Technologies and Telcordia Technologies to implement mobile number portability (MNP) services in the country. Noticeably both of the companies are US based. Syniverse is a business and technology solution for the global telecommunications industry, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA the company was awarded a letter of intent to provide India’s telecommunications operators with number portability clearing house and centralized database solutions for the next 10 years. Telcordia on other hand is the world’s leading provider of MNP services and has solutions deployed across nine countries, including the US, Canada, Egypt, Greece and South Africa. Because of the project’s enormous scale, the DoT divided the country into two geographic zones for number portability implementation, each of which will be handled by a different MNP provider. Each zone is further broken down into 11 service areas that represent cities within the zone. Zone 1 will cover the northern and western regions of the country, while Zone 2 will include the south and east.
