Corners.in that we have wrote about its launch in February this year, has now launched its social platform aka Engine to infuse apps in major social networking portal namely Facebook, Orkut, MySpace, Hi5. The website Corners launched earlier in February with features to act like social networking website, customize content in users profile called 'corners'. The website has now built a social platform to provide content in form of applications to social networking portals having open social platforms. In anticipation of this social engine the website has launched a Facebook App called - Cinemas, where user can get movies related content in their Facebook profiles. Though, we have pointed out in our previous post about Corners.in, that the website is more about movies, photos of Indian Cinema rather than other traits of social networking sites, this has been maintained in App for Facebook too. A new internet startup Corners.in has launched this week, though claiming to be Social Networking website driven by content more than individual profiles like that of Orkut, Bigadda, Fropper in India. Allthewhile, the portal apparently seems like Photo, video driven website more than social networking. Although the features do provide some good options to play with while browsing or creating "Corners", which is Topic specific pages that user can create. Through Corners, user can bring the content directly from internet and choose them to place them in their respective corners and customize. Other than photos, videos one could find links to other sites in sections such as news, events and post topics to discuss in respective 'Forums'. The parts of website that really make sense of social networking remain hidden in portal inspite of being the part of portal what is called Topics (forum) and Blogs. Nevertheless, the site promises to pull pretty good amount of traffic because of interactivity that attracts Indian audience and that is, photos, videos of celebrities, people and movies that breath.
