Google WaveGoogle Wave is upcoming product from Google which could be next big thing for Google after Gmail and Google Maps, being one of the most successful products from google.

Google Wave is a new web application carrying true traits of Web 2.0 and for communication and collaboration on the web doing equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Google Wave

Google Wave is expected to launch later this year and this is how it works – one can create a wave and add people to it. Everyone on wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly. It’s concurrent rich-text editing, where you see on your screen nearly instantly what your fellow collaborators are typing in your wave. That means Google Wave is just as well suited for quick messages as for persistent content, allowing for both collaboration and communication. You can also use “playback” to rewind the wave and see how it evolved.

Interestingly, Google Wave is HTML 5 app, built on Google Web toolkit and one can even embed Waves in any website page and add live social gadget. Also, the web app is from same people who are behind Google maps – Lars Rasmussen and Jens.
