BPOSutra.com, a networking portal for BPO People has been launched in Beta though open only for invitees also BPOSutra.com has been in Alpha mode since February this year. This vertical social networking portal is launched by e-Sutra Chronicles Pvt. Ltd, a Career and Lifestyle enablement company offering platforms and services by Industry verticals.
In a Press Release apparently sent to IndianWeb2, it describes itself in a competitive way, as -
BPO Sutra is India’s very own networking portal from Bangalore. The difference from Orkut, Facebook, Big Adda, Linked-in, etc being this portal caters only to the needs of more than 7 Lakh people directly employed in the BPO industry. In addition to networking and media sharing, the portal provides some cool applications that will enhance the users’ career, lifestyle and profession. Please reply for any further information.
Noticeably its not first time that a BPO targeted social networking portal has been launched and thats too in India, in a similar format BPO-Voice, a networking portal targeted to BPO related crowd has been launched that we reviewed in July this year.
BPO Sutra is a portal for Career help, Mentoring, Professional networking and Lifestyle platform for the BPO People. The portal offers unique and user-aware features to three key constituencies of BPO people: those wanting to join a BPO, those working in a BPO and those associated with the industry including family members of BPO employees and eco system participants.
BPO Sutra addresses user requirements like job interview preparation, promotions and IJPs (Internal Job Postings) and emolument benchmarking through intelligent applications like Mentor- Mentee framework, Resume Builder, Job Suitability Analyzer and Selector. BPO Sutra offers unique integration of Web 2.0 technologies like professional networking, Sutras – an authenticated knowledge base, the BPO Wiki, and Intelligent career help applications.
However, all that said cannot be seen unless you have invited to login the portal and start browsing through social networking and web 2.0 features and traits as acclaimed by company. What I want to say is that BPO Sutra should be open to all public no matter if its in testing phase, user should get glimpse of what it is, if its really a good online product.
Lets put it in Google way - “Early release and Iterate development” which in turn bind users and prevent them from running away from using web product. Atleast a web startup should always carry a screen shots of main pages behind login/ authentication if it is in closed beta.
