Startups in India especially in field of technology, internet and web (web 2.0/ 3.0) now can show up their potentials on how promising can they be for investors, VCs, angel investors or any other funding bodies. The scenario in India is changing rapidly for startups who were previously masked for VCs, funding options to see them with less or no interactions between these two in India, except when its got any brand name or personality.
The very first one in this highway is Proto.in providing entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations, products as prototype models and let them flaunt their ideas along with an eye of venture capitalist and investors likely to nurture them. Proto.in is working in this part for last 2 years, with next such Indian startup event lined up in July 2008 in New Delhi.
The other such event is Bangalore Technology Equity Fair, to be held on 27th June 2008 and as apparent a first such show for startups in India to showcase their talents directly to funding bodies to provide capital to them.
Yen Expo, a company behind the fair will be organizing the fair for technology startups in India to access the Private Equity market. This event will allow technology companies seeking equity funding to make presentations to and meet directly with Private Equity & Venture Capital investors.
Yen Expo will then screen and shortlist 10 high quality technology companies seeking capital for growth. Yen Expo will then work closely with the short-listed companies to make them investor ready prior to the event. The fair is to be held in Bangalore venued at – Sigma Room, Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore

This is definitely an encouraging sign to the Indian technological community. It provides ample opportunity for the entrepreneurs to invest in their ideas and see it to realization.
